Warren Hogan, Chief Economist, ANZ addressed a private boardroom event for 20 business executives where guests engaged in a discussion around; “Perspective on Australia’s Economic & Financial Outlook”. This SME Executive Boardroom lunch was proudly hosted and sponsored by Grant Thornton.

With the Coalition Government’s first federal budget due on 13th May, the ground is being readied for all of us to do the “heavy lifting”. What will Joe Hockey’s priorities be for the coming 12 months and for a longer term vision? How much will our trading partners impact our domestic plans and what is the outlook for our economic prosperity?

Warren gave us his perspective on what we can expect in the up-coming budget and how our nation might fair in the short and medium terms. Warren is responsible for ANZ’s Economics and Global Markets Research providing the Group with a single ‘ANZ View’ for key stakeholders and customer segments.

Warren has worked extensively as an economist and strategist with Australian and international banks for nearly two decades. Warren’s research focus is on global macroeconomics, monetary economics, and financial markets. Warren is on the Leadership team for ANZ’s Global Markets and Loans business. He is also the Secretary of the Australian Business Economists (ABE) as well as a member of ANZ’s Regional Investment Committee.
