Mark Rantall addressed a private boardroom lunch for 20 senior executives from our small & medium sized business members where he discussed “A matter of National Importance – Advice, Super and Savings". This Executive Boardroom lunch was proudly sponsored by MLC Australia.

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is Australia’s leading professional community of financial planners. Superannuation is a matter of growing importance to Australian’s. Mark Rantall, CEO, FPA is uniquely placed to discuss with our Business Club members a range of related issues –

  • The financial challenges of Australia's aging population;

  • Highlights from the Federal Government's recent Superannuation Roundtable and the Future of Financial Advice Reforms, and
  • The importance of Advice that is in the client’s best interest and what we will need to sustain us into the future.

The FPA has over 11,000 members, of which 8,500 are practising financial planners. They advise 5,000,000 clients nationally. The FPA has five key roles: to represent professionals; advocacy and lobbying; setting and maintaining standards; awarding certifications; and professional development.

Following a 25-year financial services career, Mark was appointed by the FPA Board in 2010 to raise the standing of Australia’s professional financial planners.

In his first year at the FPA, Mark has achieved key constitutional changes to the membership to focus on individual practitioners. He has also secured more than $2 million of funding from members for a national consumer advertising initiative. Mark also spear-headed the campaign to Government, media and other industry stakeholders that raised awareness of the higher standards for FPA members.
