David Mortimer AO, Chairman & Ahmed Fahour, Managing Director, Australia Post, 26 July 2010

Business Lunch

David Mortimer AO, Chairman & Ahmed Fahour, Managing Director,Australia Post addressed 600 business executives at a Chamber Business Lunch  moderated by Brooke Corte, Sky Business News on the topic “Future of Australia Post". This event was proudly partnered by KPMG and SAP.

LAST YEAR, AUSTRALIA POST CELEBRATED 200 YEARS as Australia's oldest, continually operating organisation - one of the top ten most valued brands in the country.

Yet as a federal Government Business Enterprise faced with new competitors, the ascendancy of email, a national retail network, and offshore opportunities, how will Australia Post fare in the coming years under its new Chairman – CEO team of David Mortimer AO and Ahmed Fahour?

David Mortimer AO is Chairman Australia Post, Leighton Holdings and Chairman Crescent Capital Partners and has extensive experience in banking, finance and transportation. Formerly the managing director of TNT, David is also a director of Petsec Energy and Macquarie Infrastructure Investment Management, a Governor of the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and he recently conducted two reviews for the federal government on Export Policies and Programs and on Defence Procurement and Sustainment Review.

Ahmed Fahour was appointed Managing Director & CEO of Australia Post in February 2010. He brings a wealth of experience to Australia Post following his roles at The Boston Consulting Group, Chief Executive of Citigroup Australia, CEO of the Australian operations of NAB and, most recently CEO, Gulf Finance House in Bahrain.
