MAJOR BUSINESS LUNCH

Grant O'Brien & Rebecca Dee-Bradbury have addressed a Major Business Lunch for 350 business executives where they discussed - “Unlocking the Innovation Quotient. Creating a Vibrant Australian Food Future”. Helen Dalley, Reporter, Sky News moderated discussion & Q&A session. This Lunch was proudly sponsored by Clayton Utz & IBM Australia.

On 27th October 2011, Senator The Hon Joe Ludwig, Federal Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry commented that “the global food market is rapidly changing and facing new challenges. At home, through utilising innovation and trade we have benefited from a vibrant food industry. With the changing face of international food markets Australia must position itself to manage future risks, but equally, to reap future gains.”

The Chamber was delighted to be at the forefront of identifying and promoting key issues affecting our Nation. Grant and Rebecca are two of Australia’s most prominent food innovation and retail experts and discussed the state of our food supply, quality, and security and the call for a national food plan.

  • Grant has a distinguished 24 year career with Woolworths Limited which culminated with him being appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2011. The Woolworths Supermarkets’ CV in 2011 is an Australian story that impacts the Nation: 111,304 employees; 3,490 suppliers; 96% of fresh fruit and vegetables grown/farmed here; 100% of fresh meat sourced locally; donated 2m meals to charities; and raised $62m for local communities.
  • Rebecca is President, Australia and New Zealand, Kraft Foods. In 2010, she brought two iconic companies together, Kraft Foods and Cadbury, which have over 180 years of combined heritage. With a vision of “making today delicious as part of every business decision” Kraft is the world’s second largest food company. 3,000 Australians are employed and they bring to us many of our iconic brands: Vegemite; Philadelphia Cream Cheese; Cadbury Dairy Milk and Cherry Ripe.
