MAJOR BUSINESS LUNCH
Tony Shepherd addressed a business lunch for 200 business executives where he discussed “We may never have had it so good, but we could be great: A plan to lock in Australia’s prosperity”. This Lunch was proudly sponsored by Australian Coal Association.
Tony was elected President of Australia’s leading forum for business leadership in November 2011. The BCA contributes directly to public policy debates in order to build a stronger economy and a more prosperous society.
Tony’s long and distinguished business career enables the BCA to continue its tradition of giving a strong and experienced voice to the issues affecting us all.
Commencing with Transfield in 1979, Tony rose to the role of chairman of listed company Transfield Services in 2005. His executive career with Transfield spanned divisional and regional responsibilities particularly in major projects development. Tony pioneered private sector development and ownership of infrastructure in Australia.
Tony oversaw the public listing of a number of major Australian businesses including Transfield Services, Transurban and the ConnectEast Group.
Tony is a Director of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, a Trustee of the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust and Chairman of the new AFL club the GWS Giants. He has been involved in some of Australia’s most significant projects including the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, the Anzac Warships, Melbourne’s CityLink, the EastLink Toll Road in Victoria, the Walsh Bay Redevelopment and the Victorian Desalination Project.
