Tim Reed, CEO, MYOB - Thursday 27 March 2014

Tim Reed, Chief Executive Officer addressed over 40 business executives in an intimate AICC business lunch in Brisbane where he provided insights into SAS applications to business and the move to Cloud based solutions and desktop. This event was proudly hosted by KBH Solutions.

Australian businesses of all sizes are increasingly turning to the cloud for their software and infrastructure needs. From Office 365 to Evernote, accounting to webinars, more and more business technology providers are offering the software as a service (SaaS) distribution model.

Businesses taking advantage of these online software solutions are quickly realising the real and sometimes major benefits. These include greater team collaboration, boosted productivity, cost reductions in IT and travel, improved ability to telework and build relationships with customers, and more. Importantly, recent research shows business owners using the cloud are much more likely to see an increase in annual revenue.

MYOB, Australia’s leading accounting software provider, has conducted extensive research into business owners’ use of SaaS technology and the positive impacts. Furthermore, over the last four years, MYOB has rolled out a suite of cloud solutions for its 1.2 million client businesses and recently introduced an ecosystem of software ‘add-ons’ to further SMEs’ online business management capability.

Tim Reed became MYOB’s CEO in 2008. He develops and drives the business’s strategic development across New Zealand and Australia, such as its expansion into online services.

Tim’s career spans Asia, Europe, the USA and Australia, including time in Silicon Valley where he held senior management roles in sales, marketing, product management and finance within the fast paced global technology and internet markets. 

During this period he was a founding member of the Internet Advertising Bureau where, along with other internet pioneers, he wrote the first set of advertising measurement standards for the Web.

Tim has an MBA from Harvard University (Baker’s Scholar), and a BCom degree from the University of Melbourne (First Class Honours).
