How does innovation create sustainable growth and development?
Why does Israel, a country of only 7 million people, have more NASDAQ listed companies than any other country (other than the US and Canada), attract more venture capital than almost every other country, and have the highest number of degrees per capita in the world?
Israel’s culture of innovation has positioned it as a world leader in R&D in hi-tech, bio-tech, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and cleantech.
The Weizmann Institute of Science is one of the world’s top-ranking multidisciplinary research institutions with specialisations in cancer, diabetes, environment, nanoscience and alternative energy. Weizmann also houses a commercialisation arm that delivers the highest income from licence fees and royalties of any higher education institution in the world - more than $100 million per year.
